The Tennessee Titans are currently visiting Wake Forest cornerback Caelen Carson on a pre-draft visit. Twitter began to buzz with news of the visit. Carson is a very intriguing cornerback prospect for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Carson did not demonstrate athletic ability at the NFL Combine. The Waldorf, Maryland native stood 5-foot-11 and weighed 199 pounds. Carson reportedly vaulted a 9-foot-6 broad jump during Wake Forest’s Pro Day.
Carson is a competitive man-coverage cornerback with excellent positional and scheme adaptability. The Demon Deacons utilized both man and zone coverage. Carson’s fierce demeanor might complement Titans defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson.

Carson spent four seasons at Wake Forest. He recorded 120 total tackles, 29 pass breakups, and three interceptions. Carson also forced, or recovered.
The Titans are well-stocked at cornerback after acquiring L’Jarius Sneed and Chido Awuzie this offseason. Roger McCreary appears to be set to play the nickel position. You can never have too many cornerbacks, though. Carson might be a Day Three target for Titans General Manager Ran Carthon.
Carson strikes me as a guy who will outperform his draft position.
