The biggest wave of free agency has passed, as several of the top possibilities on the market have decided which teams to join.
However, there are still some good free agents on the market. These players will not receive long-term contracts, but they can earn team-friendly contracts and assist some postseason contenders.
The Las Vegas Raiders expect to be among the playoff contenders in 2024 and may evaluate some remaining choices.
With that, let’s take a look at three great free agents the Raiders should consider adding to their squad.
Guard Mark Glowinski – Greg Van Roten has not been re-signed by the Raiders, so they need a right guard. Glowinski’s profile is comparable to Van Roten’s, a veteran lineman who has been with several clubs.
Glowinski, who will be 32 years old during the 2024 season, played 493 snaps for the New York Giants in 2023, according to Pro Football Focus. The Seattle Seahawks selected him in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
Glowinski had a strong season for the Giants, receiving a 69.6 run-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus. He struggled in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys, but rebounded as a pass protector after that.
The Raiders might satisfy a short-term need by acquiring Glowinski, who could immediately improve their running game.
Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Beckham is now more over 30 years old. He is no longer the superstar receiver he once was, but he remains a talented player who might add depth to the Raiders’ passing offense.
Last season, the three-time Pro Bowler played with the Baltimore Ravens, catching 35 catches for 565 yards and three scores. He won’t make many big plays, but he’ll get open and move the chains frequently.
If the Raiders sign Beckham, they will boost their passing game and add another excellent weapon.
Linebacker Shaquille Leonard – A three-time first-team All-Pro, Leonard has struggled with injuries in recent seasons.
When he is able to go on the field, he remains a productive player. In his most recent healthy season, he has 122 total tackles and a league-high eight forced fumbles.
Leonard may be a productive third linebacker with Robert Spillane and Divine Deablo, raising the Raiders’ defensive floor.
The NFL Draft will take place in Detroit, Michigan, on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the 13th overall pick.
