WHAT A SAD NEWS: Alabama Coach made a clear and shocking news for two key players

Alabama football held its fifth practice session of the spring on Thursday, and during the open parts where the media was permitted to attend, the Crimson Tide dealt with multiple injuries. The most concerning was the absence of defensive lineman Jehiem Oatis, who was seen inside the team’s building but not on the practice field.

After practice, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer declined to say when Oatis may return to the field.

“I do know but I think it’s still kind of relative,” she replied. “I’m still a little unsure. So I am fully aware of it.”

The Crimson Tide had two players wearing black jerseys, which indicate no-contact in practice. Wide receiver Germie Bernard, who transferred to UA from Washington this offseason, had one on and spent the majority of the time riding an exercise bike.

Linebacker Sterling Dixon also wore the black jersey. He appeared to be half involved in practice.

DeBoer sounded upbeat about those two moving forward.

“Just minor, minor stuff,” DeBoer remarked. “They will be back. I’m not sure if they’ll return on Saturday, but they should be back next week. “Nothing major.”

Tight end CJ Dippre was back in his usual uniform. He wore a black jersey at Alabama’s first open media session before the team suspended practice for spring break.

DeBoer shared good news concerning his health.

“We’re getting CJ back here a little bit,” DeBoer added. “He’s not always full of energy, but he’s added to the mix. So it’s been a little group, but it’s growing with the new addition, and it’s an extremely essential element of our team.”

Alabama will return to the practice field on Saturday. Spring ball will conclude on April 13 with the University of Alabama’s traditional A-Day game at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
