Just wants a calm reign, but it’s clear that it won’t happen anytime soon. In addition to his personal health issues, Prince Andrew’s link with the late sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein will plague the royal family indefinitely. The most recent concern comes from the state of Florida and Gov. Ron DeSantis.

In late February, the Florida governor signed HB 117, a bill that allows the public access to grand jury papers, including the 2006 Epstein case. “The public deserves to know who participated in Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking,” Governor Ron DeSantis stated during the signing, according to ABC7 in Sarasota. “Nobody should be protected from facing justice due to their wealth or status, and those who harm children should be exposed and punished to the fullest extent of the law.”

The Duke of York reportedly “lobbied US authorities to accept Epstein’s plea deal” in 2006, resulting in only two charges against the sex offender, according to the Mirror. The Palm Beach Police Department proposed 15 years for him, along with other criminal counts for sex trafficking of up to 36 victims. Instead, Epstein served 18 months in prison, registered as a sex offender, and paid reparations to the survivors. “There were many questions about what happened with the sweetheart deal. This is long overdue, but we believe we can’t simply turn a blind eye,” DeSantis stated. Despite the mountain of evidence and prison term, Prince Andrew maintained his connection with Epstein.

Virginia Giuffre’s attorneys stated in the civil suit they filed against Prince Andrews that plausible “letters of recommendation” exist in the old Epstein files in Florida. While the Duke of York settled his case with Giuffre for an estimated $16.3 million, Andrew’s role in Epstein’s Florida plea deal may be publicly proven when the law takes effect on July 1.

This impending disaster for Andrew comes at a moment when he’s taken a step back into the spotlight. After Prince William dropped out of godfather King of Constantine’s memorial, and Charles stayed at home to rest, the Duke of York led the royal family to the service. The optics were not favorable for anyone at the palace, and their continued support for him is beyond comprehension. With DeSantis’ huge move last week, things are about to get a lot worse for Prince Andrew.
