As rumors swirl concerning Kate Middleton’s health, Kensington Palace gives an update.

Kate has not been seen publicly since undergoing surgery in mid-January.

Kate, Princess of Wales, is “doing well” as she recovers from stomach surgery, according to a Kensington Palace official.

The spokeswoman dismissed recent social media speculation regarding Kate’s health, telling ABC News in a statement Thursday that “Kensington Palace made it clear in January the timelines of the Princess’ recovery, and we’d only be providing significant updates.” That guidance stands.”

Palace Addresses Rumors and Conspiracy Theories About Kate Middleton's Health in New Statement

Previously, the last big update the palace has released on Kate was on January 29, Kate came home to Windsor after a nearly two-week hospital stint for what the palace characterized as “planned abdominal surgery” in mid-January.

The dearth of updates on Kate’s health, combined with her absence from the public spotlight, and her husband Prince William’s recent absence from a royal engagement due to a “personal matter,” have sparked widespread internet speculation about Kate’s well-being.

Kate, 42, made her final public appearance on Christmas Day, attending church with members of the royal family.

Kate smiled and greeted fans as she walked to the royal family’s customary Christmas morning service at Sandringham with William, their three children, Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte.
