HE DESERVES IT: West Indies skipper reacts to his coach after…

Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) have announced a T20 ‘A’ Team visit to prepare for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2024.

This historic series will be the first time a West Indies side has visited Nepal and will include five T20 matches at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

Miles Bascombe, CWI director of cricket, stated, “This A-team tour is another indication of the emphasis we place on A-team cricket and a major step in our preparations for the T20 World Cup. It provides us with one final opportunity to view many of the squad’s candidates who are not playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Even if a player does not make the final World Cup roster, they will be part of the reserve pool. The ability of reserve players to step in and make a quick impact was a defining feature of the 2016 T20 World Cup campaign, so we must be prepared for everything. We also enjoy the opportunity to take the West Indies.

This historic tour to Nepal, a young cricketing nation still finding its way in the world of cricket, will excite our ardent fans. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to CWI for their continued support and belief in Nepal cricket, as well as for their efforts to grow the game worldwide.
