Zimbabwe has hired Courtney Walsh, a former West Indies fast bowler, as a coaching consultant as their women’s team prepares for their first World Cup appearance.
The Lady Chevrons are aiming for one of two qualification slots in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 Qualifier, which begins on April 25 in the UAE.
Walsh, who has taken 519 Test wickets, is aiding head coach Walter Chawaguta ahead of the competition.
The 61-year-old was previously the head coach of the West Indies ladies.
Walsh helped them reach the semi-finals of the Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2022.
