Kiper predicts the Bears will select quarterback Caleb Williams with the first overall pick, which comes as no surprise. It’s all but a guarantee at this point after Chicago has spent substantial time with Williams, including his one and only Top 30 visit of this pre-draft.With the ninth overall pick, Chicago pairs Williams with Washington’s Rome Odunze, an excellent wide receiver. The arrival of Odunze, who would be WR1 in any other draft class, would give the Bears one of the league’s best receiver trios alongside DJ Moore and Keenan Allen.
I like this pairing with Williams, however I also considered an offensive lineman or edge rusher. Odunze might become a star. This is how Chicago can prepare Williams to succeed as a rookie.
After utilizing their two first-round picks on offense, Kiper believes the Bears will continue with offense and add depth at offensive tackle with Yale’s Kiran Amegadjie. It’s an interesting move given the needs along the defensive line, particularly the edge.Amegadjie played only four games last season after hurting his quad muscle in October, but he has fascinating characteristics for a 6-foot-5 player. I considered an edge rusher for the Bears, but there aren’t many that will play early in this area. I would rather take a chance on Amegadjie.
