Adam Reynolds admits his injury against the Storm “didn’t feel good” as the Broncos await examinations for their skipper and star halfback.
The 33-year-old was photographed obviously unhappy in tragic scenes in the Broncos locker room at halftime after departing the game against the Storm with a hamstring injury.
While it was initially believed that Reynolds had suffered a catastrophic knee injury, Fox League’s Lara Pitt later confirmed that the halfback had experienced what appears to be a minor hamstring sprain.
Reynolds seemed to knock knees with Storm five-eighth Cam Munster in the final seconds of the first half. He then stood up to take an attacking kick with the last play of the half before limping away in frustration.
“You can see the devastation in his expression. “This is such a devastating blow,” Ennis stated at the time.
“Terrible scenes for Adam Reynolds, who was visibly upset in the sheds.” The Broncos are simply saying that he has a knee injury and will not return to this game, Pitt reported as the teams returned to the field.
Reynolds missed a game earlier this season due to an MCL strain.
“It was benign. There was no actual collision with Cameron Munster. But the fact that he gripped the back of his leg,” wrote Andrew Voss in a commentary.
“We were told it was a medial issue last time when he missed games, but that didn’t look like he grabbed a medial,” Greg Alexander told ESPN.
Voss immediately crossed to Pitt on the bench, where she was able to provide some hopeful news: the damage was not as severe as initially assumed.
“Some good news for Adam Reynolds and the Broncos. His initial concern was that he had made knee-to-knee contact with Cam Munster.
“However, once he got into the locker room and spoke with the Broncos doctors, he revealed that he had hamstring tightness.” Following further examination, they are hopeful that it is a minor hamstring strain.
“I guess a much better diagnosis than a very serious knee injury.”
Reynolds was asked for an update during the post-match news conference.
“It (the hamstring) just tightened.” “It didn’t feel good,” he explained.
“We’ll return to Brisbane, get a scan, and go from there.
“I felt it early in the game, and it rapidly worsened. I tried to make it till halftime to see where it was.
When Pitt asked Reynolds if he thought it was a serious injury, he played straight bat.
“I do not know. I’ll have scans back in Brisbane.”
