Michigan Wolverines safety Keon Sabb entered the NCAA transfer portal after Jim Harbaugh took the head coaching position with the Los Angeles Chargers. Sabb, a previous four-star recruit, is among the best players available through the transfer site.
Sabb will have three seasons of eligibility left. He recently won a national championship with Michigan and projects as a starter at almost any Power Five program.
Last season, Sabb has 28 total tackles and two interceptions. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound defensive back had six tackles and two pass deflections in the national championship game versus Washington.
The Georgia Bulldogs have reportedly approached Sabb, as have Alabama, Syracuse, Oregon, Auburn, and other major college football programs. Head coach Kirby Smart and Georgia missed out on elite Alabama transfer safety Caleb Downs, so the Bulldogs may still look to acquire another great safety through the portal.
Georgia’s safety room for the fall is now looking quite robust. Georgia returns Malaki Starks, who is expected to be a preseason All-American. Furthermore, the Bulldogs signed five-star recruit K.J. Bolden. Other prominent members of Georgia’s safety group include Dan Jackson, Joenel Aguero, Jake Pope from Alabama, JaCorey Thomas, and David Daniel-Sisavanh. The main question at safety this spring is who will start opposite Starks.
